personality
Outwardly cold, rude, and brash, Ragna tends to appear inconsiderate and a bit too serious to those around him. He also seems to have little patience, which quickly runs thin. However, Ragna is actually rather considerate of others, as he often goes out of his way to help those in need of it. Furthermore, he cares deeply about his friends and especially his own family. There's few things he wouldn't do for thee people he loves. There are also times where he displays a level of sarcasm, alongside dry humor.While Ragna isn't exactly the smartest, often charging into battle with little to no forethought, he does display a good knowledge of the world he lives in, being able to describe the various technologies and cities within it, as well as certain concepts regarding how the world functions itself. He's by no means a genius, but he gets the idea behind a lot of things.
backstory
Raised by The Sister, along with his younger siblings Jin and Saya, Ragna lived a mostly normal childhood for a number of years. But one day, Yuuki Terumi, one of the former Six Heroes who defeated the Black Beast, invaded the church which he and his siblings lived in. Ragna not only lost The Sister, but Terumi also took Jin and Saya with him. Saya recieved a mysterious sword: The Nox Nyctores, Yukianesa. She had also been ordered to give it to Jin And so, Jin used Yukianesa to cut off Ragna's arm, and effectively, Ragna was left to die on his own.It was not until Rachel Alucard found a bleeding Ragna that he would be treated. Ragna also recieved the Azure Grimoire, a powerful artifact which replaced his lost arm. From there, Jubei, another one of the Six Heroes, would be the one to raise and train Ragna. When the time eventually came, Ragna was granted his red coat, as well as his sword: Aramasa, the Blood Scythe. These possesions once belonged to Bloodedge, who had held off the Black Beast while the Six Heroes figured out a way to deal with it.As such, from that day forth, Ragna would be known as Ragna the Bloodedge. Now a wanderer, Ragna sought to destroy all of the cauldrons in the world, as well as the man who had taken everything from him before: Yuuki Terumi. Ragna's destruction of the cauldrons got the attention of the Novus Orbius Librarium (NOL), and thus, Jin Kisaragi, having now become a major for the Librarium's military forces.Ragna continued to destroy cauldrons, leading him to destroy any and all Prime Field Devices they spawned, and whatever NOL soldiers were sent his way. This led him to recieve his status as a wanted criminal, and the title of the "Grim Reaper." It was not until Ragna arrived at the 13th Hierarchical City, Kagatsuchi, that Ragna's life would once again change.Thus, leading to the events of BlazBlue.
